Chery Tree Academy - Colchester, Essex

Continuing DSD’s close relationship with Inspires MAT, we recently had the pleasure of working on the new logo and branding of Cherry Tree Academy in Colchester. Headteacher Charlotte Newley was keen to retain similar colours to the existing logo to provide continuity and confidence to existing and prospective parents, whilst simplifying the tree motif to reflect the more delicate form of a cherry tree.

The new simplified tree motif has been produced in an abstract geometric style which is the retained within a 'C' form. The tree is formed from a stroke line which connects to the 'C' and flows around it, signifying Cherry Tree Academy encompassing growth and development.

A friendly and highly legible typeface is used for the main word mark whilst reflecting the style of the motif itself too, with the ‘Academy’ text matching the layout of the main Inspires MAT branding providing a subtle link to the trust.
